I was recently gifted the very glamorous Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil after commenting to a friend how good hers looked! Lucky old me. It’s nice to get a beautifully wrapped package from time to time, and Harvey Nichols certainly don’t disappoint on that front. Even for just a small eyeliner box you get a beautifully packaged bag.
But, packaging aside, it’s what’s inside the bag that’s really exciting me! Urban Decay do a fantastic range of products and this eyeliner is no different. I decided to try something different to the usual black and plumped for a colour called Invasion – a really, super dark green colour that is meant to compliment hazel eyes. It’s hard to tell it apart from black in the photographs, but you might get a better idea by looking at it on the website.
The best thing about this eyeliner is the way it goes on. The name Glide-On is spot on – it does literally glide on to your eyelids, with no dragging or pulling of the skin. It’s a creamy type of pencil and hopefully doesn’t dry out if the lid is kept on. The colour is really dense and can be easily smudged if needed. I’m not used to using pencil for a heavier colour – I tend to use liquid eyeliner for a thicker look – but this eyeliner really gives a great, thick line.
It’s not so subtle for a daytime look so maybe this is one to keep for an evening. Although I have worn it a couple of times during the day and I’ve had a few compliments on how it looks. Also, I do find that if I wear glasses in the daytime I prefer a thicker eyeliner line to define my eyes a little bit more behind the frames.
The colour lasted really well all day, with no smudging or flaking. I was expecting it to maybe be a little bit difficult to get off, but actually it came off really easily with a make up remover. This new formulation is also waterproof – perfect in time for winter rain!
The website is full of loads of different colours – check them all out in the link above – and while you’re there, browse through some of the names of the other liners – they’re fantastic! I would love to try some of the other colours in the range – Asphyxia and Vice look great for a night out eyeliner that will stay put. And luckily for me, the lady on the Urban Decay counter gave me a free sample of the LSD colour – a gorgeous, glittery blue that, for a sample size, is actually a really generous amount. I’m really excited to try that one out, especially as early reports from Fashion Week suggest that blue is the go to eye colour for Spring / Summer 2016. Plenty of time to get practice in then 🙂
And just as a side note, Urban Decay have just teamed up with one of my absolute idols, Gwen Stefani! I’m so pleased those two are working together – they literally seem like a match made in heaven and I can’t work out why they haven’t done it before!? I can’t wait to see what they come up with, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on their Instagram for more updates.
Have any of you used the Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Liner? I’d love to hear about your experiences – drop me a comment below.

I love these eyeliners I have them in so many different colours but i always have to remember not to put the dark black one under my lash line as it stains around my eyes so bad and looks like really intense under-eye bags haha! X

Good tip! I’ve only smudged a little bit on my lower lash line so far and it’s been ok but mine is green. Got my eye on a purple one and a brighter green one next. Add it to the wish list! ?
