I recently wrote a post about my thoughts on some bridal traditions, which included a bit about my thoughts on bridesmaid dresses. If you haven’t read it, go catch up, but essentially I am moaning about the distinct lack of colour and structure when you type in the B word. I decided that I wanted something a bit different for my bridesmaids! Bright, summer florals were on the shopping list all the way. The spring stock is shaping up to be chock full of blooms so finding a floral bridesmaid dress wasn’t too tough.
I’m not going to share the exact dress that I got my lovely bridesmaids because that will spoil the surprise for our big day. BUT I’ve put together a mood board below with some beautiful dresses that I’ve spotted on my searches and some of the hottest places to shop for them.
1 – Warehouse Floral Organza Dress | 2 – ASOS Wedding Bandeau Midi Pencil Dress | 3 – ASOS Bright Pink Floral Bandeau Midi Dress
ASOS have some gorgeous bright coloured and floral dresses. There are tonnes on the website that you can shop, some of which are in the sale! And as usual they have excellent delivery and returns policies. Very reasonably priced too.
4 – Glamorous Bandeau Dress | 5 – Boohoo Pleated Midi Skirt | 6 – Boohoo Tulle Midi Skirt
There are plenty of softer coloured floaty numbers knocking around this spring – like this dress from Glamorous and the tulle skirts from Boohoo. Very affordable – all of these are £20 or less! As you’d expect for that price, the quality isn’t the greatest, but you get what you pay for and the clothes are very pretty.
7 – Elsie’s Attic Kingfisher Print Audrey Dress | 8 – Karen Millen Floral Dress | 9 – Elsie’s Attic Peach Floral Audrey Dress
These three options are more traditional cuts and prints. Elsie’s Attic has a whole load of dresses on, most of which are in a 50s style. I picked out these two dresses because they’re super flattering and the prints are gorgeous. The Karen Millen dress is much lovelier in real life but it’s also £200 so a bit more expensive than I could afford!
I hope that’s given you a slightly different look into the world of bridesmaid dresses – sometimes it’s better to just forget you’re looking for your bridesmaids and pick some dresses you think are really pretty. Personally, I love floral bridesmaid dresses and I think they fit into the theme of our wedding at a garden!
