Studs, Shakespeare, black, red, stars, zips, hearts. This ASOS Reclaimed Vintage x Romeo and Juliet leather jacket has it all. And I am in love.
I don’t even know where to begin with this one. It is as though this jacket was designed for me. Romeo and Juliet is one of my favourite Shakespeare plays – due more to my intense love for Baz Luhrmann’s film and the revelation of my eternal love for Leonardo DiCaprio than the story itself, but a favourite nonetheless. I love studs, leather, stars, hearts and I’ve been dying to get a painted jacket since my birthday last year.
So when my incredible husband surprised me with this bad boy, it was like all my Christmases had come at once.
The jacket is real leather and because of that, weighs a tonne. It also keeps me really warm – much, much warmer than any faux leather jacket I’ve worn before. It’s an oversized biker style that I think is made up of two different leather jackets – or at least looks like it is.
But it’s the attention to detail that really brings this jacket to life.
It has red ribbons on the arm zips and bow and arrow charm thingys on the body zips. You can use the pockets (praise be) and there is a decent, chunky belt buckle to really round off the biker style.
It may be a bit on the pricey side (£250), but boy is this jacket an investment. I can see it lasting forever (although I doubt the paint on the back will – it seems to flake off a little too easily for my liking). It’s a real statement piece and I always get comments when I wear it.
