I strongly believe that if I think I look good when I’m working out, I will feel better about myself. And if I feel better about myself then it will be less of a struggle getting out of bed at 5:39am and braving the cold. I will also feel much more comfortable lunging in front of other people. For me, looking good is about wearing colour and bold prints, so I’m sharing my top colourful sportswear picks for those who are bored of plain old black.
While I do have a new found passion for buying sportswear, I have not suddenly found myself rolling in cash at the start of this year. So, whilst I absolutely love the look of pretty much everything from brands like Fashercise, Sweaty Betty and Lululemon, the fact is I can’t afford £100 for a pair of leggings that I will wear for a max of three hours a week.
My colourful sportswear is more likely to cost me a maximum of £25 for a pair of leggings or £20 for a top. Yes, I believe it’s worthwhile investing in a decent sports bra and trainers because no one wants saggy boobs or a broken ankle, but for everything else, I am more than happy to go high street.
In fact, I have found some of the best sportswear at New Look, Tu by Sainsbury’s and Florence and Fred by Tesco. Their designs are lovely and the value is just second to none.
I am also a fan of trawling ASOS – I am so glad they have decided to separate out their activewear! Find it here.
TK Maxx also isn’t a bad place to keep checking in – you can get a good bargain in there on both colourful sportswear and colourful accessories – think dumbells, kettlebells, water bottles and foam rollers.

You’re so right about a bit of colourful kit being a great motivator to get uo and get out early. I love some of the things you’ve picked out there – makes such a difference from standard black sports wear
