Last week I introduced you to what I got in days 1 – 10 of my ASOS advent calendar. Well this post is all about (you guessed it!) days 11 – 20. I appreciate that still leaves four days worth of treats before Christmas that I haven’t shown you, but I will. I just can’t bring myself to open the doors until the actual day. It spoils the advent fun!
Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray
I have the thickest, straightest hair there is. No matter what I do, getting texture into it is the hardest thing ever. I am intrigued to try this out but I literally have no idea how to use it. The directions say “spray evenly over dry hair to create tousled waves”. No chance, mate.
Cowshed Cow Slip Soothing Hand Cream
I love this hand cream – I already have a different Cowshed one and it dries in quickly without feeling greasy and leaves my hands feeling softer. This one has sweet orange and peppermint essential oils in and it smells fresh and sweet. A new one for my bedside table!
DIY Nails Nailcals
These are super cute nail and skin transfers that have arrows, cupids, hearts, bows and all kinds of things on. I’m not 100% sure if they might be a bit too cutesy for me, but I might try them with some dark nail varnish to see how they look.
Murine Bright and Moist Eyes Eye Drops
This one is a bit odd for me. Basically you stick this in your eye and it’s meant to make them look super white. Sounds great in practice but do I really want to mess around with my eyeballs? Hmmm, maybe not. Also, not suitable for contact lens wearers so I would have to try them on a glasses day. We shall see.
Nude by Nature Translucent Loose Finishing Powder
I’m looking forward to trying this one. I love my Bare Minerals mineral veil but sometimes it’s a little bit cakey around my nose so I am looking for a setting powder that isn’t wildly expensive to perfect my concealer and foundation. This one is also cruelty free. Winner.
Purity 3-in-1 Cleanser for Face and Eyes
Not currently in the market for a cleanser but happy to give this a pop. Don’t understand how it is 3-in-1 – what are the three things it does exactly? But I love the tiny size – it’s ideal for travel. Interestingly, I went on their website to see what they’re about and their ‘Our Story’ section is just lorem ipsum copy. FAIL!
MOA The Green Balm
No idea what this is – looks a bit like that Egyptian Cream? Has anyone else noticed lots of these all-purpose balms popping up recently? It does get pretty good reviews on their website so I’ll be road testing it on my dry lips. Damn you cold weather!
Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in Birthday Suit
I have been dying to try this so was v. happy when it turned up in my ASOS advent calendar. I love the colour – I’ve got really into warm browns recently – this shade is perfect. The formula, however, is so drying that it drove me a bit up the wall when I wore it. I will persevere but on first impressions I prefer my Collection Velvet Kiss in Caramel.
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse
I opened this one just after I had been talking to a hairdresser friend about how important it is to put oil on your hair to keep it looking smooth and feeling strong. This Nuxe oil can be used for face, body and hair so it sounds like a good one. It’s a tiny wee bottle but it will give me a good taster.
Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Wipes
I have fallen out of love with face wipes since converting to the amazing micellar water last year. I sometimes now find that when I do occasionally use face wipes, they make my skin tingly and sore. I also notice how useless they are at actually removing make up, but that’s a different story. I will give these a fair go though and they are useful for when I’m on the go.
So there you have it, day 11 – 20 of the ASOS advent calendar. Have I convinced you to get one next year yet? I must admit, I think this second part of the calendar hasn’t been quite as great as the first ten days but I’m still pretty chuffed with what I’ve got and I’ve already started incorporating them into my beauty routine.
What do you think to these goodies?
