November is one of my favourite months because it means BIRTHDAY! This year I turned 30, which I had some pretty mixed feelings about (you can read more about that here) but needless to say, getting a whole boat load of presents from my amazingly generous family and friends eased the blow. In this post, I am sharing the beauty bits and bobs I got. And stay tuned later in the week to see how spoilt I really was!
Just look at all those beautiful beauty bits – it’s safe to say everyone knows how much I love make up and skincare.
A Boots Haul
I’m really excited to try the Hylamide skin booster from Deciem, The Abnormal Skincare Company. This is a serum that contains hyaluronic acid to really penetrate your skin and offer deep rehydration. I really need this at the moment as my skin is struggling with the change in the weather. I’ll be adding this into my skincare routine ASAP! You can pick this up from Boots and it gets great reviews!
I also got the Real Techniques miracle complexion sponges, the expert face brush and the brush cleansing gel. I have really got into using sponges for my make up at the moment and picked up some from Primark not that long ago, but it soon became clear they weren’t as good as the higher end ones. For me, you get what you pay for.
I’m also loving the Bourjois Happy Light matte serum and the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I CAN’T BELIEVE I haven’t tried this mascara before. It has the most amazing brush, my lashes don’t need curling to wear it and it separates my lashes beautifully. WINNER. The serum feels soft, airbrushes my pores and keeps my skin matte. A thumbs up from me.
The Perfect Red and the Perfect Nude Lipstick
I am a sucker for pink lipsticks – I always find myself gravitating towards a pink when it comes to picking something new. But thankfully my lipstick wardrobe has now been brought up to date with the perfect red – MAC’s Ruby Woo – and the perfect nude – Charlotte Tilbury’s Bitch Perfect.
Now you may have read that I didn’t rate Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation AT ALL. But I am loving the smooth formula and high pigmentation of the lipstick so far. Whether it’s worth the astronomical price tag though, I’m not so sure!
I can’t wait to try Ruby Woo as well – meant to be a universally flattering red. Watch this space.
Urban Decay Moondust Palette
Wow the Moondust palette is really something isn’t it! The colours are absolutely incredible and they are just SO SPARKLY! I haven’t tried it yet because I didn’t dare disturb those pans until I had taken a picture but I think this will be the perfect palette for December AKA the only month where it’s acceptable to wear sparkles every day.
Beauty Bits & Bobs
I was also lucky enough to get the Nails Inc Alexa Stars nail varnish and the Too Faced Melted liquified long wear lipstick in Frosting.
Honestly, I’ve been so spoilt for my 30th! Thank you so much to everyone who bought me gifts and sent me well wishes. I am getting stuck into 30 with a vengeance and have lots planned for 2017.
Have you tried any of these beauty bits?
