Cape Town is a truly beautiful city. With so much to do there, you are spoilt for choice! It is the perfect place to get adventurous in, whether that means taking a trip up Table Mountain, spotting penguins at Boulders Beach or scrambling along cliff sides at Cape Point. We visited the city on our honeymoon last month, when Cape Town was just coming out of winter and heading into the early days of spring. Coming from the 37° heat of the greater Kruger park, the cooler climes and occasional rain came as a bit of a shock to the system. I had no idea what to wear! So when Thomson asked me to create a fashion mood board for Cape Town, I jumped at the chance.
Madewell slim fit button down shirt, £61 | Hollister Co zipper jacket, £27 | Boyfriend fit jeans, £23 | Converse footwear | MANGO metallic shoulder bag, £62 | Carrera folding wayfarer sunglasses, £39
I kept my colour palette subdued, choosing rich autumnal tones and just a pop of sparkle with my silver Converse.
Although the weather was a bit unpredictable, I could not have lived without my Ray Ban sunglasses (but I also found these Carerra dupes that are only £39!).
A good bag is also a must have, to chuck in your sunglasses, camera, wallet & bottle of water. This bucket bag from Mango is my new favourite – I am in love with the star studs.
Finally I am all about a good pair of jeans and boyfriend fit have been my saviour the past six months. Loose enough to be comfortable while walking around, they are incredibly flattering and the rips on these H&M bad boys make them bang on trend.
Where do you want to go on your next city break? Have you been to Cape Town?
