Best Bits: February 2016

February – technically the shortest month of the year, but I often find it feels like the longest.  And this year it has felt like the longest it’s ever been in my existence.  It’s still so wintry and cold, I’m totally skint because I’m dying to treat myself because of the cold miserable weather and I generally don’t have a social life because I hate going out in the cold.  Did I mention the cold?

Anyhoo, I may have been a bit of a miserable bugger this month but this post is a look back on all the GOOD things that have happened this past month to keep up the positive vibes.  So what did I get up to?

Rio De Janeiro

At the end of January / start of February I was lucky enough to go to Brazil.  Perfect opportunity to get away from that cold!  I spent some time in Sao Paulo and spent a wonderful, relaxed, sunny weekend on the beach in Rio de Janeiro.  I wrote a full blog post, with lots of piccies, about what I got up to, but here is a beaut piccie of my view on the beach.  Lucky old me!

Skincare

2016 is the year of the wedding.  Have I banged on about that enough yet?!  So this year I am seriously upping my skincare game so my skin is wrinkle free, spot-free and positively glowing come August.  Enter serum, eye cream and higher factor SPF for my face – all the things I should have been using already but definitely wasn’t!

Weight Loss Progress

I’ve been persevering with my fitness and nutrition plan, despite being really busy and travelling a lot.  The weight has been coming off slowly but surely and I wrote a post about what I’ve been up to and my stats if you want to check it out.  Since then, I’ve dropped a bit more weight and I have now lost a stone in total between 11 January and 29 February.

I am so so pleased with how I’m getting on and honestly the effects are amazing.  I had a lovely day off to myself and ended up buying a pair of size 10 jeans and they fit like an absolute glove.  OVER THE MOON!!

AUNTIE JENNIFER

The last bit of exciting news this month came in the form of a wonderful family announcement.  My brother and his wife are expecting their first baby and it’s a beautiful girl!  I am going to be an Auntie for the first time and I am super excited.  Little babba is due in July and I can’t wait to meet the little munchkin.  Even if she is making wedding plans a little tricky 🙂 (Mum is a bridesmaid…!)

I think that’s just about it for February – another good month.  And another month closer to being a married woman.  Yikes.  February 20 marked six months until the big day.
