There is nothing like a pile of books to start the New Year with and I’ve been lucky enough to be gifted a fair few for my birthday and Christmas that I’ve yet to read. January has been a tiring one, with my new nutrition and fitness regime so I’ve not managed to read much this month! I normally read before bedtime – but I’ve been gone as soon as my head hits the pillow this month. So my reading list is still canny big!
Little Women
I used to love the film version of this when I was younger – you know the one with Winona Ryder, Claire Danes, Susan Sarandon and Christian Bale? Such a tearjerker, right?! Well I’m ashamed to say I’ve seen the film about five times and never once read the book. So here it is.
The Book Thief
I saw this advertised as a film at the end of last year but never got round to seeing it. It wasn’t one that Andrew thought he’d be into and I got too busy to go see it on my own or with a friend. So I decided to get the book instead – any maybe if the film is on a plane I’ll watch it!
The Paris Architect
This book was on the book club reading list last year, but when I went to buy it from Hatchard’s at St Pancras, the last one had just been bought. Timing. Luckily I got it for my birthday from Andrew’s brother and it’s been on my reading list ever since.
Big Little Lies
I’ve read a couple of Liane Moriarty’s other books (The Hypnotist’s Love Story, The Husband’s Secret) and really enjoyed them – just as a little down time from some heavier reads. Suffice to say they’re pretty easy going but this has got a bit of murder thrown in, so it must be a little bit interesting…
So that’s my February reading list – I am QUITE sure I won’t get them all ready (despite how many hours I’ll be sat on a plane this month) but it’s nice to have a good list to get stuck into.
What are you reading at the moment? Any recommendations?

I absolutely love Little Women and The Book Thief. I’ve still not seen the film version of The Book Thief as I’m scared it won’t do the book justice!

Ahh do you know what, I’m just like that with some books! I was in love with The Beach by Alex Garland when I was growing up and have still refused to see the film (even though it’s got Leo in and he is my absolutely fave!) I’m too scared of it being ruined 🙂
