I absolutely LOVE writing these posts. They give me a minute or two to just reflect on what’s been going on in the past month and remind me of all the awesome things I get to do in life. It’s kind of like a once a month, bumper diary entry and I find it really uplifting. So if you’ve never written one before, then get on it!
Maybe it’s the sunshine on this day as I write, but I’m feeling pretty good about January 2016. I’m on the countdown to the wedding, I’m kicking ass in the weight loss and toning up departments and January has actually gone pretty quickly for the most hideous month of the year. It can’t be that long until summer now can it?!
Hannah’s 21st
The year started with a quiet one – Andrew had norovirus over Christmas and still wasn’t feeling 100% by NYE so we settled in on the sofa with a bottle of wine (for me) and a blanket (for Andrew). We might have only made it until 00:20 but we still made it.
That all changed on 2 Jan when we went out and got far too drunk for the gorgeous Hannah’s 21st. Here’s a nice pic from the start of the night… 😉 Unfortunately the quality is terrible (damn you iPhone front cam) – soz about that.
Happy Birthday Banana!
Second Christmas
Because Andrew was poorly over the festive break, we took a delayed trip to Lancaster to see his family. YAY for late Christmas presents – I got the Gwen Stefani Urban Decay eye shadow palette! Win!
Andrew’s Mum also shared with me the bill for her wedding back in 1975. Not even £175! LOLs (*sobs into cereal over huge cost of weddings*).
Healthy Eating
I think I’ve banged on enough about this for long enough – but I’ve been reducing my carbs and upping my protein, along with fitting in loads of exercise. You know what, it’s been actually quite enlightening and I’ve enjoyed a lot of my meals!
Quinoa, cooked in coconut milk with berries for breakfast.
Or, on low carb days, salmon, eggs and asparagus. YUM!
Furry Family
Extra special shout out this month to Casper, Cocoa and Maisy who have brightened up my winter days by just being desperately cute. Stroking a pet makes you feel better don’t you know – why not check out my post about how to chill out for some more tips!

I hope your January has been similarly as gorgeous – what have you been up to? Please let me know below!

These posts are definitely a great way to reflect on the month. I just started one in January and I’m already looking forward to writing Februarys.
It’s crazy how much things cost compared to ‘the olden days’, my auntie bought a three bedroom house for only £2,000!
Casper, Cocoa and Maisy look so cute 🙂
