As I sit here snuggled under my blanket looking out of the window at a dreary, rainy day, it’s hard to believe it is actually still August. But August it is and what a month it has been. I’ve only just started this blog but the end of every month is a chance for me to look back at what has been good about the past 30 odd days – however quickly it is flying by!
August for me this year has been about trying new things – buying the skin-changing Clinique Sonic Cleansing Brush for one (see my review here). And now I’m excited to trial the free gifts I kindly got sent with my brush. The turnaround revitalizing skin oil looks particularly interesting. Has anyone ever used a facial oil – I’m not sure of the etiquette! Do you use it before or after cleansing? Having slightly oily skin, I never thought a facial oil would be right for me so I’m keen to find out what new changes Clinique can bring for me.
August was also the marker of a year to go until our wedding. I can’t believe it is now less than 365 days to go! We visited the venue and it was so amazing to see the flowers out in full bloom. Andrew was also an usher at one of his best friend’s weddings and it was such a beautiful day. They had obviously put in a lot of effort and it was great to pick up some tips for our own day. That reminds me – got some wedmin to catch up on this afternoon…
I also did my fair bit of travelling this month – spending time in the USA, Amsterdam and London. We tried some amazing food and drink in London – watch out for an upcoming post about Alcoholic Architecture!
Last but not least, August has been a time for some wardrobe clearing out. With autumn nigh on the horizon, I thought it was time to clear out the cupboards and so the next few weeks will be spent listing some clothes on eBay that I’ve not had out of the closet for too long. Time for them to go to a new home. I’ll be putting some bits and pieces up soon. Check my page out (in a couple of days) here.
It’s been great to have our Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera with us to capture all of our moments and we put up a couple of frames in our bedroom to hang our piccies as we snap them. An easy DIY project that I’m sure I’ll get around to posting about soon! Everyone was also really jealous of it at the wedding we went to – sometimes it’s a shame you can only get one of each picture. But still, honestly one of the best presents we’ve been given.
So that has been my August in a nutshell. I hope yours has been similarly fulfilling. Looking forward to a crazy busy September. Andrew and I even discussed what we’re going to do at Christmas today! Only four months in advance. Nothing like planning ahead!
