When we found out we were pregnant, we knew we wanted to do some kind of antenatal classes. There are a few different options out there, but we’d heard about NCT through my Mum so we didn’t even bother looking into any others. Everyone gets offered NHS antenatal classes at the hospital they’re delivering at, so we booked onto those as well, although we never got round to doing them as I was already in hospital at that point so I literally have nothing to compare what we experienced to!
So if you’ve seen my latest post, you will know that I’m now a Mummy – our little baby Sebastian arrived a little earlier than expected. Because the delivery was so unexpected, I didn’t get chance to get this post up before birth, but I wanted to share more about what the husbear and I learned on our hypnobirthing course.
I recently wrote a post about how frustrating pregnancy can be, but I thought it was only fair to talk about some of the awesome things that have been happening to me as well. Pregnancy is a stressful time, but there’s also loads of amazing things to enjoy, and now I’m in my third trimester, I’m reflecting on how much I’ve actually enjoyed being pregnant!
Now I’m well into my third trimester, the reality of labour and birth is really starting to hit home. Instead of thinking about the next stage of pregnancy – the next trimester – I’m thinking about the inevitable end bit, where baby koala makes an appearance. Needless to say, my anxiety levels have been gradually increasing as the number of weeks to go has gradually decreased.
There is a tonne of stuff you could run out and buy when you find out you’re pregnant – and I’ve certainly treated myself to some new bits and bobs – but I’ve discovered there are some things worth your pennies, and some things you just don’t need. Here I’m sharing my first half of pregnancy favourites – the things that got me through the first and second trimester (yeah I know that’s more than half – so sue me).
Pregnancy is such an exciting time, but it is also incredibly stressful – something that not a lot of women really seem to speak about. It feels blasphemous to say that there is even a small part of pregnancy that you don’t enjoy, particularly in the second trimester, which is when you’re meant to be glowing and blooming. I’m through my second trimester now so thought I’d share some of the unexpected surprises pregnancy has thrown my way.
Ahhh the first trimester, my old friend. Where to begin? Quite frankly, it was mostly ghastly. Want to know why? Read on!
I know it’s nearly the end of January, but hey, whatcha gonna do? I’ve been off radar for a few months and I’ve totally taken a step back from my blog and instagram for the time being. Now it’s a new year, I’m feeling a bit more energised, so where have I been and what’s in store this year? Well, we have some big news to share!
