Money Diary: Making The Switch To Statutory Maternity Pay
My Experience of NCT Antenatal Classes
When we found out we were pregnant, we knew we wanted to do some kind of antenatal classes. There are a few different options out there, but we’d heard about NCT through my Mum so we didn’t even bother looking into any others. Everyone gets offered NHS antenatal classes at the hospital they’re delivering at, so we booked onto those as well, although we never got round to doing them as I was already in hospital at that point so I literally have nothing to compare what we experienced to!
My Birth Story
I don’t really know where to start with this one. There are all kinds of things I could say, but turns out giving birth to a baby is a pretty big emotional THING to do. So I guess I’ll just dive in. It’ll be a long un and it could get quite graphic, so you have been warned.
What A Hypnobirthing Course Involves
So if you’ve seen my latest post, you will know that I’m now a Mummy – our little baby Sebastian arrived a little earlier than expected. Marco’s Newcastle: Just Another Steak Restaurant?
A few days before I was admitted into hospital unexpectedly, I had the pleasure of being invited to sample the menu at Marco’s, Newcastle. Marco’s is part of the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill chain and is best known for its steaks (clue’s in the name). I’m not a huge steak eater so I wanted to test out whether it could cater for other tastes.

The Most Amazing Things About Being Pregnant
I recently wrote a post about how frustrating pregnancy can be, but I thought it was only fair to talk about some of the awesome things that have been happening to me as well. Pregnancy is a stressful time, but there’s also loads of amazing things to enjoy, and now I’m in my third trimester, I’m reflecting on how much I’ve actually enjoyed being pregnant!
How I’m Tackling Labour Anxiety With Hypnobirthing
Now I’m well into my third trimester, the reality of labour and birth is really starting to hit home. Instead of thinking about the next stage of pregnancy – the next trimester – I’m thinking about the inevitable end bit, where baby koala makes an appearance. Needless to say, my anxiety levels have been gradually increasing as the number of weeks to go has gradually decreased.
Pregnancy: First Half Favourites
There is a tonne of stuff you could run out and buy when you find out you’re pregnant – and I’ve certainly treated myself to some new bits and bobs – but I’ve discovered there are some things worth your pennies, and some things you just don’t need. Here I’m sharing my first half of pregnancy favourites – the things that got me through the first and second trimester (yeah I know that’s more than half – so sue me).
